State Notification Regarding Exchanges
States specify to the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) whether or not they will operate an American Health Benefit Exchange.

Medicare Retiree Part D Subsidy
The employer’s deduction for the amount of the Medicare Part D retiree drug subsidy becomes taxable.

Annual Fee on Medical Device Sales
Imposes an excise tax of 2.3% on the sale of any taxable medical device.

FSA contributions limited to $2,500
Employee contributions for FSAs will be capped at $2,500 annually, with future increases to allow for inflation.

Medicare payroll tax increase for high-wage employees

March 1

Employee Notification of Access to Exchanges
Employers are required to provide employees with written notice about exchanges, premium subsidies and free choice vouchers.
